Sure they exist however finding the right one takes patience, diligence, a whole lot of time and a bit of luck, right?  Not necessarily.  Finding a great graphic designer is easy – when you know where to look.

Begin by asking friends, family and business associates who have great graphics.  Unless they did their graphics themselves they had to have hired a graphic designer. Referrals are the best place to find a great graphic designer.

How to Check for Dead Links

A dead link, also known as a dangling link and a broken link, is defined as a link which leads to an error page or a web page or server which is unavailable.

While the occasional dead link may not seem like too much of a big deal all it takes is a single dead link to lose a customer.

A website visitor’s attention span is typically limited to about twenty seconds.  If you can’t capture their attention in those first twenty seconds – click, they’re gone.  They’re onto the next website or gasp – your competition.

What Is a Project Manager?

A project, in essence, is someone who oversees a project to completion.  Let’s say for example, you are building a small outbuilding at home or have a list of calls and meetings to complete.

Most of these “projects” can be done by yourself, but if you have a housing development or are starting on a large business venture, a project manager can come in very handy.

Projects, especially large projects, generally need a project manager.  The amount of things to be done can be overwhelming and thus you “subcontract” out to another person to help you.

A project manager also ensures that you have another pair of eyes to oversee the project. Project managers basically run the entire project from the ground up. Read the rest of this entry »

Where Do I Get Logos Made?

Are you in the market for a logo?  If you are new to that term, a logo is a special graphic used to represent a company.

Finding a Project Manager

It isn’t hard to find a project manager, though it can take time.  Finding a project manager is simply a bit of advertising and checking references, just like any other employee.

The difference is the knowledge and practical experience this manager will have and whether it is what you want.

Determine what you want in a project manager and ask for one accordingly.  Advertise in the correct areas as well.

Newspaper advertising has no set area but if you are advertising online, do so within the industry in which you will be working. Read the rest of this entry »

Dead Links Kill Your Traffic

Online business owners know what links are and how important they are.  A link is a portal to your site that may come from your own site or an outside source.  Links help visitors find their way to your site and navigate through your pages.

You can almost think of your links as your website’s roads.  When one of those links is “dead” or “broken”, traffic cannot get through.  The road is closed.

If you’ve ever driven on a road for a long time, and right before you get to your destination, you realize the road is closed, you know how frustrating it can be.

Your website visitors experience the same frustration when trying to navigate their way through broken links.

In most cases, they won’t try to find an alternate route; they’ll simply click away from the site and find the information they are looking for elsewhere. Read the rest of this entry »
