Managing a growing and thriving blog can be a truly satisfying career. You not only get to watch your blog change people’s lives, you also get to be part of that by interacting with people on a regular basis. You’re building a community and it doesn’t get much better than that.

Here’s how to become a blog content manager.

Step One – Hone Your Skills.

A blog content manager is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. You’ll want to make sure your writing skills are not only up to par but finely tuned.

It’s important to be able to write confidently on a variety of topics and to be able to match the voice of any particular writer.

It’s also important to understand various writing formats. One blog may use a very journalistic style while another blog may use a more personal, story telling or feature style of writing.

In addition to honing your writing skills, you’ll want to hone your organizational skills, understand group and social dynamics, and also ensure you’re comfortable delegating and managing in the event that you’re working with others to build a blog community.

You’ll also, of course, want to have a solid understanding of blogging technology and even some basic HTML.

Step Two – Establish your own online presence.

The best way to demonstrate your skills is to create your own blog. This will serve as your writing portfolio so to speak as well as demonstrate your understanding of blog community building, internet marketing, and technology.

Step Three – Become involved in online communities.

Again, this is a great way to demonstrate your skills but also, becoming actively involved online may lead you to your dream job. One of the best ways to find a great job is to connect with potential employers online – not as a job seeker but as a peer. Be professional and put your best foot forward at all times.

Step Four – Join blog manager groups online or community manager groups online.

At first, you may want to simply view what they have to say for a while and learn. After you feel comfortable, you can begin participating. This is a great way to both learn about the industry and to make connections.

Additionally, if you have a passion for a specific industry or topic, participate with blogs in that industry. Comment, and become active and then when you’re ready, take that extra step and contact the blog owner.

Sometimes, just getting your name out there with the right people can lead to your dream job. If you’ve made a positive impression, they’ll be happy to share your name with others in the industry.

Becoming a blog content manager is a great way to add value to the world and to live an ideal lifestyle, often you can work from home and if you love interacting with others, it doesn’t get much better.

Are you looking for a great way to keep your customers and other business contacts up to date? Or keep up to date on them?

Or do you just need a quick and easy way to keep up a personal relationship with your contacts over the internet?

Well there’s a great new trend picking up called microblogging that may just save you time and even expand your customer base.

Microblogging is similar to regular blogging, but shorter and usually faster and more convenient. While you can access normal blogs through the internet on your cell phone, many microblogging sites will have applications that automatically update you on your phone. This makes it easier for you to reach your friends, family, and customers.

Depending on the service you use, you may be able to microblog in forms other than text. Some sites will let you add video and audio as well, as long as it is smaller than a certain size.

This makes it as effective as blogging, but a lot faster and more accessible for you and your contacts.

To microblog effectively, you need to have contacts who receive your posts. The easiest way to build your customer base and advertise a campaign is to use already existing networks to your advantage.

A friend passes something along to three friends who pass it along to their three friends and so on, and eventually you’ve got a huge network of people to work with.

The beauty of micro blogging is that these sources already have thousands of people who are all interconnected.

Microblogging can be used as a great way to promote your blog. You can add short comments, then direct them to the blog to hear the rest.

This way, more people read what it’s about because they don’t really have to go out of their way to look at your blog. Plus, there is software available that will post the microblogs for you. That way, you get all the benefit without all the work.

If you don’t have a blog, you can still use microblogs to increase the traffic to your website as well. Any time you release a product or make an update, you can tell your contacts about it. This will keep them coming to your website over and over.

Microblogging is a great way to keep in touch with business associates and customers without having to do all the work of emailing. You can communicate what you’re doing with them, and keep up and their lives and businesses, and it’s all quick and easy.

You can also use microblogging as a way to establish yourself as an intelligent business person and a valuable asset in your field.

You probably already do research on what’s going on with businesses in your field, whether it’s a new idea or an upcoming product release.

Microblogs are a great way to pass along these tips, and an even better way to keep up on them yourself.

Something that you will find, especially if you join something like LiveJournal , is that users just like you have created communities for people with common interests.

There are communities for just about any subject, and if you find that there isn’t a community for the subject you can create one. This is a great place to advertise your blog.

The nice thing about communities is that there isn’t any limit as to how many communities that you can join.

For example, say that you love blogging about books, horseback riding, and skiing in Tahoe. All you have to do is look through the communities for ones that have those interests and join them.

As long as you post something related to the topic to the chosen community, people will see you and perhaps they will check out your personal blog.

Something to remember is that you don’t want to write a post tht is one sentence long in order to get people to go to your blog. They will want to know that what you write is interesting and is something worth reading.

Joining communities can be a great way to advertise your blog and drive traffic to it. If you are referring to something that you posted about on your blog, you can use a link back to your entry in your post.

As with posting comments on someone else’s blog, you don’t want people to think that you joined a community
simply to get traffic to your blog.

Otherwise, people won’t visit your blog and you may get banned from the community as well.

Something that has become increasingly popular since the Internet has grown are the email groups that are available through Yahoo, MSN, and other venues.

They are a great way to meet other people who have a common interest, and are very similar to the communities that are available through blogging sites.

There is plenty of diverse subjects and there are communities for just about any subject. These groups can be a great place for people who have a blog about the subject and want to share it with other people.

Most of the time when you join a group, you are encouraged to take a moment and to introduce yourself. This is a great opportunity to tell people about your blog, but make certain that you don’t overdo it.

Just like with any of the other places you will advertise your blog, you want to make people want to go to your blog. If you are too overbearing, you will turn people off.

If your blog covers different subjects, you can advertise it on the other groups that cover those subjects as well.

Make certain that your post to the groups is interesting and that you let people know what it is that your blog is about. There’s nothing worse than getting taken to a blog under false pretences.

When people visit your blog, make certain that you thank them for visiting and respond to comments that they leave.

If they know that you appreciate the time that they took, they are more likely to come back again.

If you want to have more people visit your blog, there are plenty of blog directories on the Internet that you can submit your blog to so that people will come and visit it.

Most blog directories are listed by the topics that the blogs that are submited cover.

Blog Catalog is a free blog directory that offers categories such as career and jobs, writing, Iraq, and many others. It has features such as featured blogs and other things to offer those who submit their blogs there.

Another great place to add your blog is blog-drectory.org. Not only do they have an an extensive list of categories with sub categories, you can get your blog reviewed.

For the most popular blogs, it shows the amount of hits that blogs have and if they have any reviews. As well as listing by category, the blogs are also listed by location.

There are other blog directories on the Internet – these are only a ouple of them. But blog directories are a great place to advertise your blog and to make new friends.

You never know what you will find when you browsing through the directory, and you may just find out information that you never knew. Some of the blog directories offer chat features as well, so that you can meet other people easily.

As you can see, blog directories are a great place to get your blog noticed and bring people to read your blog and look at your pictures.

No matter what type of blog that you have, one of the best places that you can advertise your blog is to join a blogger forum.

After all, everyone who posts there has a blog and thats the main subject. It’s a great place to meet other bloggers and advertising your blog.

There are quite a few blogger forums that you can sign up for on the Internet. One is known as Bloggeries, where you can show off your blog, get your blog reviewed or review other blogs, and find lots of tools that you can use for your own blog.

Blog Forum, like Bloggeries, has spots for you to market and show off your blog,

Blogger forums are a great place to advertise because everyone in them are of the same mind and want to make
certain that their blogs get noticed and read.

If you use your blog to advertise something that you are selling, or you want to get a lot of traffic to your blog in order to make money, you want to go someplace where it can get exposure.

When you advertise on a blog forum, you know that you are placing your advertisement in a place where blogging is something that people enjoy.

Just remember when you are posting to a forum to read the rules and abide by them. That way you’ll get your blog noticed and you will know that you are doing the right thing.

If you have a blog that you are particularly proud of, and that you want to share with other people, there are a lot of free ways that you can get your blog noticed.

One of those ways is something that you do everyday, and that you may not even consider as a way to share your blog. Put the link to your blog in your email signature.

Chances are that you send out emails more timese that you can count during the day, Each time you send out an email, you can advertise your blog by putting the address of your blog in your email’s signature.

It’s always a good idea to write something catchy like, See what I am up to now, or Read my latest chapter of my fanfic here, depending on what type of blog you have.

The thing to remember about putting an adveritsement in your signature for your blog is to make it short, but eyecatching.

You want people to be interested enough to want to click on it, but you also don’t want to scare them off.

Just like it is with any adveritsement, you want to give them just enough to be interested and take a closer look at what it is that you are advertising.

Think about what it is that your blog is about, What is really going to interest people abuot it and want to visit. That is what you should include in your signature, and that is what is going to get people to go to your blog.

Problogging (professional blogging) refers to blogging for a profit. Probloggers (professional bloggers) are people who make money from blogging (as an individual blog publisher or a hired blogger).

Below are just some of the many money-making opportunities for probloggers:

The following are a few things that you need to consider if you want to be successful in problogging:

Be patient. Problogging requires a lot of time and effort, not to mention a long-term vision.

Know your audience. Targeting a specific audience or group is a key to building a readership.

Be an ‘expert’. Focus on a specific niche topic and strive to be the “go-to” blogger on that topic.

Diversify. Experiment with various add and affiliate programs that enable you to make money online (aside from blogging).

Do not bore your readers. Focus on the layout. White spaces, line spacings, and bigger fonts make a blog welcoming to read.

Certainly, it is possible to earn money from blogs. One just needs to take risks, the passion, and the right attitude in order to be a successful problogger.

Today anyone who has writing ability or is dreaming to be a writer has written a blog in the net.

There are blog soft wares that are simple and easy to use and a technically inclined and challenged individuals can easily acquire a blog online.

For some individuals, blogs are their projects of every day living, as they talk about their daily episodes as well as make tribute to friends and family.

Furthermore, blogs assume a profound meaning written to compose and assemble political statements, endorse a product, supply information on research, and even offer tutorials.

Any subject that are of your interests, you can be sure that someone has written a blog about it.

Blogs are now being written by politicians, sports figures, novelists, newscasters as well as other known figures. It is this blog fever that has raised controversy.

The fact that anyone can compose and regarding any subject matter under the sun, complaints about certain write-ups are an issue.

In a lot of blogs, names are being mentioned; do bear in mind that although you are entitled to write anything that interests you in a blog, you have to be very careful and take in a lot of responsibility.

Do not make any statements which can become controversial; or else, be very prepared.

Why a Blog?

1. For personal acquaintances, relationships and hobby. A person can write a blog about his daily activities, what’s going on with his life as his way of telling his family and friends the things that goes on in his life. Likewise, one may also write a blog just so he can express what he feels about himself, or about a certain subject matter that is of interest to him.

2. Topical. Some blogs are committed to a precise topic, like computer hardware or politics. These are frequently read like magazines.

3. For marketing. Corporations are too, into blogging; when well written and implemented, this kind of blog can be a powerful instrument for business communications, forming eagerness and anticipation regarding their products and services offered, or used as tool within the company, keeping employees well informed about company issues and news.

Why someone else’s software?

A lot of Web designer and creators will laugh at the belief and idea of utilizing the software of someone else. This is can be correct especially when each software greatly differs from the particular requirements that a client may have.

Yet on the other hand, when it refers to a Weblog software, there is no reason for apprehension in the use of a package that is pre-written, as most packages were developed through years of study; not just knocked together over a couple of days.

In addition, one may study its feature set. For a developer, it would take a lot of time and effort to write and compose from “nothing at all” every single feature in the Weblog software packages of today.

For most people, a blog is there for the main reason that chooses to publish or make known your literature and texts on the Web, so you want to spend your time more on writing than coding.

Hosted Services

If one wishes to start broadcasting on the Web, yet does not have web hosting, one can consider looking into a hosted service, which includes Blogger, TypePad, Live Journal, and more.

These services are operated or handled for an individual, so there is no need to concern one about technical upkeep of one’s Weblog; instead, one can concentrate on his blog’s appearance and content.

In just minutes, after signing for an account, one can readily start his own blog. Many such services are offered free, such as blogger. TypePad charges a minimal amount for monthly service fee.

Self-Hosted

When one has Web hosting on hand, or is eager to buy hosting, in which one feesl that the advantage will prevail over the problems of keeping up your own blog connection and installation, then you may want to take into account a package that is self-hosted, which includes Movable Type, Textpattern and WordPress.

Other hosting companies did construct the process of installation easier, permitting installation with just a click from a control panel that is browser-based.

It is important that you check with a hosting company so you can view if this function is offered. Similar to hosted services, some self hosted packages are made available either for free or for a certain fee which is dependent on the type of package that you choose as well as the basis why you are using it.
